Dancing to hard-style techno, hanging at the bus stop, night bike ride, discovering that R&B made you tingle inside, experiencing the first love, verging on the obsession, everything is intense, sensual and important. Teenage is a seminal moment -pun intended.
Last weekend, I was invited to the south of France for the 31st Hyères International Festival of Fashion and Photography. I collaborated with the French illustrator Julien Colombier, who was invited to present his work in the superb Villa Noailles, a modernist house on a top of a hill, overlooking a breathtaking view on the village and the sea.
Eleven years of relationship needed to be celebrated with style, we scoured the net for an affordable yet comfortable destination for our weekend. We wanted to go in the Ardennes, for the remote location and the beautiful view on the forest. After a quick search, it was clear that we had found the perfect hotel for us.
Today is my 30th birthday.
I am pretty glad actually. 30, has always been a sort of goal since I was 13yo. I am at peace with my life at the moment, I feel i am doing the right thing launching my brand exactly the way I want it to be. Other that reflecting of what my life has been so far - don't worry I won't write a book about it. What I will do, however, is give a few advice I wish I knew in my twenties:
Let's take an intimate look at the brutalist bunker/palace/studio of the lord of darkness and sophistication: Rick Owens. Domesticity at its finest. I have to admit that I have a mild-to-severe obsession for anything Rick Owens does. The furniture, the fur, the shows, the lifestyle, the opulence, the attitude.
To new challenges, to new beginnings, to travels, to paths yet to be walked on, to discoveries, to vulnerability, to transparency and to sheer optimism. I am starting a journal, to document a journey and a evolution. A quest for beauty in its every form.
